Weekly Happenings: Our week was pretty run of the mill. On Monday, Paul took a half dayย and went with me to my doctor’s appointment. We got to see baby wriggling around, hear the heartbeat, and got an official due date: 12/28/16. It looks like Paul might get his wish of a “precious little tax deduction” for next year, afterall. ๐ The only other things out of the ordinary that happened was that yesterday Paul successfuly hunted up a school desk for Joseph to use at home. We had gone to a used desk store and hadn’t found anything that quite matched what we wanted (an old-school desk that either had a cubby in front or a lift-top lid, like we had in elementary school). Paul checked back with Craigslist (basically an online garage sale site), found one, sent the guy a message, got an affirmative answer (yes, he still had the desk), called him to get the address, and we headed over. Joseph and I waited in the car and Paul picked up the desk. It’s in practically new condition and we only spent $20.00! I think we’re all pretty happy. ๐ We also ran by the mall since I needed a new pair of shoes…and Joseph may or may not have convinced Paul that he needed a new LEGO kit (it’s not too hard when they have some relatively inexpensive smaller sets). ๐
The Weekly Weather: It’s been hot and muggy, but in reality, not as bad as it could be (or that we’ve had in the past) this time of year. There were a couple of days where it may have broken 100 degrees, either according to the thermometer itself or according to the heat index (which factors in humidity), but it’s mosty been in the low- to mid-90s. This pregnant lady sure is grateful for that!
What Paul’s Been Up To: Pretty much his regular stuff: work, school, Scouts, and maintaining the house.
What Sarah’s Been Up To: Pretty much my regular stuff, too. It’s been a little different not having piano students, but I am grateful for the extra rest I’ve been getting. I’m feeling so much better than I was a few weeks ago (other than occasional bouts with an unsettled stomach that luckily only yields a stomachache that is relatively easily settled by some Tums, as opposed to my stomach insisting on emptying itself). I think that when September comes along, I’ll be more than ready to start back up again with my students for a few months before baby comes.
What Joseph’s Been Up To: He’s been spending a lot of time playing with LEGOs, dressing up as different people, and just being a genuinely good kid. He did get to go over to a friend’s house to play in their wading pool and sprinklers, which he loved (I loved it, too, since my friend basically told me to drop him off and then go home and take a nap). ๐ I don’t think I can ever adequately express how grateful I am for the friends we’ve made since moving here!
