Weekly Happenings: This past week yielded a couple of fun things for Joseph. We went to the trunk-or-treat at his school and he got to participate in his school’s annual fun run (money per lap/flat rate donation fundraiser). I was glad for those things, because they helped to break up what might have otherwise been a pretty ordinary week. We’re looking forward to Halloween and the ushering in of the holiday season.
The Weekly Weather: It was all over this past week. We had cold mornings, warm afternoons, cold days…you name it, haha.
What Paul’s Been Up To: Not too much out of the ordinary for him: work, school…rinse and repeat.
What Sarah’s Been Up To: Not too much out of the ordinary for me, either. Keeping kids healthy and happy!
What Joseph’s Been Up To: As I mentioned before, he had a great time at the school trunk-or-treat. He also did really well at the fun run. Abigail and I came to cheer him on. He ran thirty laps, which equaled out to just shy of two miles!
What Abigail’s Been Up To: Not too much out of the ordinary for little miss this past week. She’s been her sweet self as usual.
This Week in Pictures:
All ready for the trunk-or-treat! This year, he’s Mario from Super Mario Brothers.Abigail obviously isn’t going for any candy this year, but we figured we could still dress her up. This year, she’s Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. The little doll she’s holding is a little Sally doll (it’s hard to tell since it’s upside own).Getting candy from his teacher. She really wanted Joseph’s shiny hula-hoop.Getting ready to run!Doing their warm-up walking lap.Run, buddy! He loves running with his friends. They marked off how many laps the kids ran on the back of their shirts. It’s blurry, but man, I love this little squish! Our all-over-the-place weather. These two sure hold a special place in my heart! He said I needed to take their picture because they were “so cute”. I have to agree!
Weekly Happenings: We had a pretty average week followed by a fun weekend. During the week, not too much out of the ordinary happened. On Saturday morning, I took the kids to the zoo (so Paul could work on homework and whatnot). Then, after Abigail woke up from her nap, we went to Bass Pro’s Shop (a favorite place for Joseph) and then grabbed ice cream on the way home. It was a pretty fun day.
The Weekly Weather: It’s been a mix of warm and cold. The mornings have been pretty chilly, but then it warms up. It sort of reminds me of California in that aspect.
What Paul’s Been Up To: Not too much, other than work, homework, and working around the house.
What Sarah’s Been Up To: Mainly just keeping the littles happy and healthy.
What Joseph’s Been Up To: He’s pluggin’ away at school and loves to help out at home (especially if it involves keeping Abigail happy).
What Abigail’s Been Up To: She has officially hit her ten-month mark (today, in fact) and decided to celebrate the occasion by starting to crawl (we refer to it as “Army-crawl”). It’s hard to believe she’s going to be one in just two months!
This Week in Pictures:
All bundled up for the walk to school (it was 46 degrees).Using Baby Einstein videos to help pass the time while Brother is at school. It warmed up to 82 degrees (from the 46 degree morning temperature), so I peeled off all her layers for the walk to go get Joseph from school.Entertainment for both of them. 🙂Pretty sunrise on the way home from dropping Joseph off at school one day.She loves the swing!I saw this while walking Abigail around the neighborhood (secretly getting her morning nap taken care of). I love Charlie Brown!Muppets are very entertaining.Joseph making “ghost eyes” in front of a jack-o-lantern at the zoo.Fun at Bass Pro’s.Once she got it in her hand, she wasn’t going to let it go for anything. And then there’s this…A bit of her personality shining through.Demonstrating her Army crawl.A bit closer…Oops! Got caught by Daddy (she was going for the cords under the desk).
Bonus Video: Abigail (sort of) crawling (she’d been doing it more before):
Weekly Happenings: I think all the things we did this past week made up for all that we didn’t do the past week, haha. On Monday, Joseph didn’t have school and Paul didn’t have work, so we headed off to the pumpkin patch. Thanks to Abigail waking up early (regardless of the day), we were able to get an early start and had a nice visit while it was still cool. A fun time was had by all. 🙂 On Thursday, we attended an awards ceremony for Joseph. His school has different values that they teach the kids about and will choose kids who they feel have used those values. Joseph was picked for “Speak With a Purpose”. His teacher said that he always thought before he spoke and tried to always speak kindly and patiently with his friends. That’s our awesome boy! Finally, yesterday (after another almost-regular-time wake-up call from Abigail) we decided to head out to the zoo for the morning. In the afternoon, Joseph and I worked on his pumpkin for the Storybook Pumpkin Patch at his school (each kid who wants to decorates a pumpkin like one of their favorite storybook characters) while Paul spent some much-needed time on homework.
The Weekly Weather: We’ve had quite the mix. The week started out warm, but then a cold front dropped in, making it cool for a couple of days. It warmed back up after that, but we have another cold front working its way in as we speak. It’s pretty typical for this time of year, though.
What Paul’s Been Up To: Work and school as always…he did make sure to make some time for some fun family time, though. I’m so grateful that he strives to do that.
What Sarah’s Been Up To: Mainly just my typical stuff. It’s amazing how the days just seem to fly by!
What Joseph’s Been Up To: He’s been enjoying school and GT. He also enjoys helping with Abigail and playing with her.
What Abigail’s Been Up To: She’s pushed out yet another tooth…so the count is now 6. She will be 10 months old next week! She isn’t crawling yet (still rolling like a fiend) but enjoys seeing what mischief she can get into whilst in her walker. 🙂
This Week in Pictures:
She is super-interested in child-locks right now…Building a scarecrow at the pumpkin patch (with a real life scarecrow photobomb, haha).Chillin’ on a hay bale.Family selfie #1……family selfie #2……and family selfie #3. 🙂Getting ready for the barrel-train ride.He loves this thing!I think we’ve taken his picture here every year that we’ve been. It’s fun to see him grow.Peek-a-boo!Another must-take-a-picture spot.Going for a hay ride.King of the hay bale!Bundled up baby! One bonus of cooler weather: she gets to wear her cute cold-weather clothes.Playing with the edge of the rug is much better than playing with toys!Getting his award. Each award comes with a certificate and a medal.Posing with the principal. With all the other recipients. With his teacher. I think we’ve been really blessed to have her as his teacher. He says she does all sorts of fun stuff with them (like putting glitter in their Play-Doh as a surprise one day).I “spiderwebbed” the bookcase for Halloween.I also put up some fun ghost and pumpkin lights…which Abigail spent a LOOOONG time trying to get to.Chilling with the Komodo dragon.Monkeying it up with the gibbons. We always need to make a stop here!Joseph’s pumpkin for the Storybook Pumpkin Patch. He chose a cute squirrel named Scaredy Squirrel.
