Well, it’s been a bit since I last posted. I always forget how insanely busy the last part of the school year is. So here’s a catch-up post for January to June. 😉
Weekend “fun”: laminating school stuff at home, so I don’t have to do it at school.“If I fits…I sits…”You don’t want to mess with either her OR Yoshi.100th Day of School…and if you don’t know what the “6-7” trend is…consider yourself lucky!!Abigail’s 100th Day of School shirt.We didn’t get any true snow days this past winder, but we did get an ice day. I was technically working it, but I was able to do it in a way that I could still hang out with her.Easter at the park!We went as a family to see the Mario movie. She had to wear her Luigi hat and bring Yoshi, of course!Looking like a teenager from my generation, haha. I sure love this kid!Someone learned to tie shoes! YAY!!So, my grade level’s Fiesta party was happening at the same time as hers, but in different areas…some of my students spotted Abigail on the other side of the fence and got her to come over…and then they called me over so I could take her picture. 🙂Paul had the state LP convention that he needed to go to in Abilene, so the kids and I tagged along. While he was in meetings, we explored the Abilene zoo.The weather was fantastic!Abigail found one of her favorites: capybaras!!Joseph with a snapping turtle.My little monkey with some, well, monkeys.Joseph with a sloth.She loves to pose on statues whenever it’s allowed.They had a really pretty water area.Feeding the giraffes.Joseph got in on the fun, too.We found some bison!Eating at Long John Silver’s.The beginning of the EOY concert season: this was the night where the high school band had all the 8th grade band kids that are zoned for the high school come and do a concert. They learned the music that afternoon and performed it that night. It was awesome!Sweet girl!Waiting for Joseph’s EOY concert.It was cool to see all that he’s learned. He did a bit of this……and a bit of this. I love that the percussion students were exposed to all the various types of percussion instruments.This was the Night of Percussion that was hosted by the high school. The high school percussion section and the percussion sections from all the feeder middle schools performed pieces.Mother’s Day!!Math Rocks Concert. She was happy to find me in the crowd.An EOY “assignment” that actually made me laugh out loud as I read through them. My students’ “tips” for next year’s bunch were awesome.We’ve loved seeing the cardinals in our yard.Our garden really loved the mild spring and beginning of summer that we had.Abigail’s 3rd grade awards.Joseph’s 8th grade awards.Once school was out, we started walking in the mornings. Sometimes we were treated with wildlife sighting. We’ve seen deer……and egrets!There was a kick-off to summer event at the park. There was a petting zoo……and horse-riding!We all went to see the new Mandalorian and Grogu movie. When we got home, she had to see if she could replicate the look. 🙂When eating at Texas Roadhouse, isn’t it required to wear one’s cowgirl hat?!Our backyard looking a little jungle-like with all the plants growing this year.
