Weekly Happenings: This past week was pretty normal. We ran some errands, played outside (yay!), and hung around the house. We didn’t really go anywhere or do anything out of the ordinary. Normally that might be considered a bad thing, but we don’t mind it too much. 🙂
The Weekly Weather: As eluded to by the title, the sun has finally shown itself. It’s been nice to have a break from the rain. I think we’re supposed to have a few storms this week, but it’s not supposed to be all day, every day like it has been. Also, while it has started to warm up, it’s nowhere near as warm as it was last year at this time. It’s been rather pleasant, actually.
What Paul’s Been Up To: He’s been kept busy with work and school as usual, but he also took care of an issue with our air conditioner. On occasion, air conditioners can develop clogs in their lines (mostly made up of mildew and other yuckiness). When this happens, there is an overflow pipe that starts to drip (ours is out on our back patio). I noticed this happening a few days back, so I let Paul know. When he got home from work, he flushed the line with vinegar and boiling water (using an air mattress pump to push it through). This cleared things right up. I’m so grateful for such a handy husband!
What Sarah’s Been Up To: I’ve been feeling quite a bit better as far as the nausea goes, but I’ve still been pretty tired. I’ve found that little cat naps have almost become a necessity. I did finally have enough energy to clean a little bit, so the other day I cleaned the kitchen, half bath, vacuumed, swept, and mopped. I also attended a book club meeting one night, which was fun as usual.
What Joseph’s Been Up To: He’s been his typical happy-go-lucky self. Pretending to be different people, building stuff with LEGOs, making up his own games when playing, etc.
Oh! How I’ve missed the beautiful blue Texas skies!He came into my room and told me that his bow and arrow were full of potential energy. The farther back he pulled the string, the more potential energy. O.o I vaguely remember an episode of Blaze and the Monster Machines that may have mentioned the phrase…he then told me there was a giant spider right by me and proceeded to take aim…I told him it jumped onto the elliptical (no way was I going to let him shoot an arrow, even a suction cup-tipped one, anywhere near my face). 😏The king must be armed for battle at all times (yes, that is a foam ninja sword stuffed down the back of his shirt).Playing his made-up game. He threw a ball out far and then tried to hit the ball with the frisbee.Doing another thing he loves: drawing.I can hardly believe how much the basil plant my friend gave me has grown! Also pictured: the mint, which makes our front patio smell really good, and Joseph’s ever-growing rock and stick collection.Our tomatoes are loving this cooler than average weather. I had already picked the majority of the ripe ones before taking this picture, but there are a ton of green ones still on there.I was excited to see wildflowers blooming in the tree beds in the back yard. Paul just planted the seeds a few months back.We’ve got some more blossoms on the blackberry plants. The last ones got attacked by bugs before they even fully formed into berries. I’m hoping these will make it! You can also see some of the wildflowers that Paul planted in the garden bed around then raised beds.Strawberries! I think it’s interesting how the original plant put out a shoot. I don’t think I knew they did that.I waited a few more days after the last picture was taken and then went back out and picked the two ripe strawberries. Since it’s technically Joseph’s strawberry plant, we were more than happy to let him enjoy the berries (though I did sneak a taste…they were so good!). You can also see all the tomatoes we’ve picked over the last week or so.
