Weekly Happenings: This past week was another pretty low-key week. I did have my first doctor’s appointment. They were able to do an ultrasound to determine size and what-not. It was so neat watching that little baby wiggle and wriggle around! My due-date is tentatively 1/1/17. Since it’s earlier than I suspected, we’re definitely not going to California for Christmas. We’re going to go this summer, instead. Tomorrow I’m supposed to get a sonogram that will confirm that everything matches up with where I’m supposed to be (and will confirm my due date). The rest of the week was filled with normal stuff (including another book club meeting for me). Today (being Father’s Day), Joseph and I made Paul breakfast in bed and gave him his present (a new part for his computer). I also made him one of his favorite meals for dinner (chopped steak and gravy).
The Weekly Weather: As the title of this post eludes to, while summer doesn’t officially start for a few more days (by the calendar, at least), it’s definitely here in South Texas. It’s been warm and humid. We’ve been staying inside quite a bit. It’s a good thing that Joseph loves to play with his toys!
What Paul’s Been Up To: He’s been working really hard on projects and tests for school. He’s also been keeping busy with work and Scouts.
What Sarah’s Been Up To: I’ve been enjoying the fact that I no longer feel like I have a permantent case of the flu. I guess since I am swiftly approaching the end of my first trimester, it might be better from here on out. Yay!
What Joseph’s Been Up To: He was super excited when we decided that he needed to be moved up from his car seat into a booster seat. Paul and I had noticed that he just looked…huge in his car seat, so we went ahead and got him a booster. He feels like such a big boy, using a “grown-up” seatbelt, and being able to reach more things (mainly his sunglasses which dropped onto the floor). One thing happened that would have been hilarious if he hadn’t been so sad: last night, he apparently had a bad dream that HEB (our local grocery store) had run out of milk. He came downstairs to find me and he was in tears. He asked me in a choked-up voice what would happen if they ran out of milk. After I had comforted him a bit, I assured him that HEB probably wouldn’t ever run out of milk, but if they did, there were planty of other places we could buy milk. Poor kid…what a dream! Once he was safely stowed back in bed, Paul and I had a good (quiet) laugh about it (we certainly couldn’t laugh in front of him…he was seriously upset).
